Are there any suggestions on what is best to use or even available for VISTA
to protect against a virus attack?

Thanks in advance.

Avast is good too, and also integrates well with Outlook 2007 for
added real time protection.

Say what? Virus checkers for Vista? I thought that was a thing of the past?

I do also. I wonder if I "paid" for the retail
program........................., instead of the free version?

He probably heard of the comment that Jim Alchin made.

You may change your mind when you install the French language version
with a soft female voice announcing that 'the virus data base has been
updated'...:)

I enjoy Avast for Vista - for XP, I prefer Kaspersky or - as a free
alternative - Avira AntiVir.

Nod32 works great here. Others might have different opinions. Main thing is that it should work and you be happy with it. Second guessing sometimes goes the wrong route
