Virus Infection???

Charles V

Recently, I have received several e-mails from different sources containing
the same message content, copied below. I have McAfee virus scan installed
and updated with all current updates ---- but it doesn't detect any problem.

I cannot associate any of my recently transmitted e-mails with the content
of the questionable received message.

Can anyone explain whether the receipt of this e-mail is indicative that my
computer is infected with the W32 Netsky.P@mm virus???

TIA
Charles

Questionable message follows:

"Subject: Virus Found in message "thanks!"
Symantec AntiVirus found a virus in an attachment you ([email protected]
<[email protected]>) sent to CAD.

To ensure the recipient(s) are able to use the files you sent, perform a
virus scan on your computer, clean any infected files, then resend this
attachment.

You yourself do NOT necessarily have this virus. The warning you have
received indicating a virus is simply informing you that a virus has bee
n removed from that incoming message - i.e. someone has TRIED to send
you a virus. This could be a result of random Email selection and you
happen to be the target. Just keep deleting the messages and where
possible don't even open them as specifically designed Emails can report
to servers if it has even been opened, thus informing spammers that your
account is active, (makes you an ideal target).
