After suffering and removing the sasser worm , my computer will not install any anti-virus software(anything else ok) and my browser will not even allow me to visit the sites of any anti-virus software manufacturers

For the browser go to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC and find the
"HOSTS" file. It's the one that's bigger than 1 k. Make a copy of it
for backup. Double click it to bring up the "Open With.." window.
Choose notepad to open it, then delete every line except "127.0.0.1
localhost".
