Virus corrupting install.exe file

Norton Antivirus detected a trojan virus that has infected by install.exe file. I have it quarantined. What will happen if I delete it to remove the virus?

How should I proceed?

Go to symantec. There are clean outs for worms, trojans
and all known malware.
You will have to uninstall Symantec anti-virus then
reinstall it after you clean up the virus...

Do it now...what are you sitting there pertrified...it is
only code....
