virtual memory proplem

hello - i have run into a computer slowdown.. ever since my desktop file was
corrupted i have been getting some kind of virtual memory spikes... i am only
using 5.07gb and i have 32.1gb of free space... i have run anti-virus
(mcafee) and spyware cleaners and i still have a computer that slows down
whenever i open i new screen... any suggestions??? thanks

thanks denny for the info.. however - my question is why should the virtual
memory paging file go to minimum if i have so much free space on the drive??
is there a way for me to monitor what files are causing the virtual memory to
go to minimum..
