Virtual memory problems

Hello, if your computer system is running extremely slow and a virtual memory
problem message pops up in Windows XP? Is there a way to fix the problem
through My Computer, Control Panel, or what the PC Repair said to upgrade the
computer's memory? What do you suggest?

Will,

I read your article on Virtual Memory, and I seema to have a similar, if not
the same problem as Kim.

On my computer, on startup, I get the error message "Either Paging File too
small or No Paging File Exist..." I've followed the instructions over and
over to no avail. I put in the higher minimum number suggested by XP, set
it, and then restart. The same message comes up again. On the Performance
page the higher page number (758) is there, however, when I go into 'Change'
the lower number (256) is back. Pertinent is that I don't know how to log on
as Administrator.

My system is...now this is odd, looking in System Info to get my specs, I'm
seeing Pagle File Space 736.2MB, which is not what the Performance Page has.
Anyway, Total Virtual Memory 2GB and Available TVM is 1.96MB. Total Physical
Memory is 512MB and Available Physical Memory is 121 MB.

For all this space (hard drive is half full) my system is very slow. I don't
understand the discrepancy, or, why I'm get this message still. Should I
delete System Restore Points to see if that allows more actual paging?

Thanking you for any advice.
