My computer, running XP professional, keeps giving me
this message, and running v e r y s l o w l y until it
has performed its actions. Why ? is it a virus
problem ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please check what is the task you're running from Task Manager
I guess you are running such compiling video files, virtual PC or your
current system insufficient memory.

go to System Properties --> Advanced --> Performance [Setting] button -->
perhaps close most of the Visual Effect and --> Advanced tab -->
Virtual Memory [Change] button -->

perhaps it help you.

Hi,

Do you have Intel Application Accelerator installed? If so, you need to
uninstall it and install the latest version. The older ones are incompatible
with WinXP and can cause this error message.

If not, then try this: Go to System properties/advanced/performance
settings/advanced tab/virtual memory change and disable the swap file.
Reboot. Delete all instances of pagefile.sys from all drives should any
exist, then reverse the original steps and reenable the swap file. Reboot
once more to finish. See if this helps,

See the Problems section at www.aumha.org/win5/a/xpvm.htm and see if any
are relevant. I have also heard this associated (at boot time) with NAV
2004, but have not had positive confirmation of that
