Rt click on MyComputer>select
Properties>Advanced>Performance-Settings>Advanced>Virtual Memory-Change.
Click on Custom Size type: 800 in each box select Set Ok. If you
are using 256MB of Ram or
less then adding more Ram would be a big help.

Hi,

Setting a fixed size can have a negative impact on your system especally if you dont know what values should be entered.
So select the option of System managed and windows XP will take care of hte rest and you wont have to worry. but if you are running too many applications it is best to upgrade to 512 MB RAM.

What, imho, could also help - you need more virtual memory, so something is
using up your current available space. Find out what, stop it from doing
that, and you schould once more be running fine...

What may help : scan for & remove viruses, spyware & malware (with antivirus
and antispywaretools - for spaware, use google, search & install "ad-aware"
& "spybot search&destroy").

Remove unused programs from your harddisk.

Check your system tray (n the 'start' menu bar; right hand side, next to
clock) - if there are lots of icons here of programs you don't really need,
stop them from running in background.

Hope this helps
