Hi all,
a friend of mine has told me that, to avoid messing up a computer, the
best way is to install programs that I want to try in a "Virual
machine" or something with a similar name. He has told me this is a
$ware program. So, if I have expressed myself correctly, I wonder if
something like this program is available as freeware.

Thanks.

OS? For Windows XP there is "Shared Computer Toolkit":

Just a few days ago vmware made a free virtual machine PLAYER.

This means that you can download the normal vmware TRIAL from their site
www.vmware.com make your virtual computer, and then uninstall it (you have
to uninstall or else it wont let you install the player), and install the
free player.

In other words use the normal vmware to make the virtual machine
then use the player to use it from there on

Stay tuned, the new computerboom is coming!

You could try Bochs (http://bochs.sourceforge.net/)
