Virtual drive software

Can someone direct me to a good piece of software that I can use to
create a virtual drive on my computer.
Freeware would be great; but will pay if necessary!

Did a google; and of course all kinds of garbage appears to be
available. Just would like to hear from experience what is good and was
is not!

there is a free utility
from microsoft called
vcd control panel

and can be downloaded
via this page:

unfortunately, there
isn't a page dedicated
for the utility.

however, it's pretty handy
and simple to use.

Not what I was looking for. Interested more something like the
"Microsoft Virtual Drive" software. Of course; you have to remember; I'm
new at this; do I know what I want?
