viewing web pages with java

some web sites that i have had no trouble acessing in the past now wont let
me. It says at the bottom of the screen something about java and my pointer
stays as an arrow. I have looked all through this site for anyone else
having the problem and done some of the stuff recommended but nothing seems
to work. I went to those sites that test java and they all said it was
working fine. Please can some one help??

Since Java tests okay, is it possible you are talking about JavaScript? Check
that scripting is enabled in your Internet security zone, and if okay, try
the updating the scripting engine:
