Viewing source code

Hi,

Everytime I select the option to view the source code of a
site nothing happens, this is rather frustrating as I'm
responsible for managing several website and sometimes
need to view the code without having to load up other
software.

Has anybody else experienced this problem? I so have you
worked out how to fix it?

Hannah,
There may be several reasons .........

1) If a shortcut exists on the Desktop for Notepad, rename it.
2) Some users have reported Quick View Plus to be the culprit?

Close all instances of OE and IE
Control Panel | Internet Options | General tab | Delete Files button
Also select the option: "Delete all offline files"
Then click the "Clear History" button, while you're at it ......
Reset the TIF cache size to 50 mb. Click Apply\Ok

Make sure 'Do not save encrypted pages to disk' is unchecked

You might also like to use the toolbar customize (right click) function to
add the "Edit" button... That does exactly the same thing really but adds
the option to choose another editor too if one is properly installed.

Incidentally you can drag a notepad icon onto the quicklaunch bar and view
source works fine whatever it's called so who knows why a desktop icon of
that name confuses things....
