Viewing Pictures in the body of a message

Chris Hagler

I have recently switched from Outlook Express to Outlook 2003. The only
thing I do not like so far is that when people send me emails and attach
pictures - in outlook express I could either click on the file attachment
and view the picture, or just scroll down to the bottom of the message...and
the picture would be displayed there.

In outlook 2003, the only way for me to see the attached picture files is
double click the attachment.

Is there any way to view the pictures in the message body like in outlook
express. I have gone through several menu options and did not find one that
worked.

Please advise...

Thanks....Chris

By design, Outlook does not display attached images inline. Outlook is a
business application. OE is targeted to consumers and the needs of the two
groups are different in this area. Exchange Administrators consider inline
display a security issue and don't want it.

Outlook only shows images inline with HTML mail items or RTF mail items with
OLE embedded images. Images in plain text mail items only show as
attachments (that you can open or save).

Ok....thanks for the explanation. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't
missing an option or feature.

Thanks...Chris
