Viewing other peoples contact activities?

Hi,
An assistant has access to his bosses contacts.
He is trying to view the bosses activites.
Which can be found in each contact under the activites
tab.

When he clicks on the Activites Tab the following message
appears "Operation failed. Object not found"

Is it possible for someone else to view other peoples
email activites?

Only by looking in that other person's Sent Items and other mail folders.
