viewing newsgroups with web browser

If I view a newsgroup with IE, almost every time I click on Reply or New
Discussion, no window opens for me to type my message in. I was told that
this might be due to a scripting error, so I should download and install
Windows Script 5.6, but that didn't solve the problem. SOS! Thanks.
