Greetings Jasmin,

Windows Messenger actually has no capacity for saving conversations unless you manually save
them yourself using the File menu, Save As capacity before you close the window.

However, if you have Messenger Plus! installed (http://www.msgpluslive.net/download/old/)
which can automatically store your conversations in Windows Messenger, you could simply open
up a conversation window, click the Plus! menu and then choose Open Chat log.

Windows Live Messenger has the ability to automatically store your conversations however if
you're interested in having this feature built in. Check out
http://get.live.com/messenger/overview to get WLM.
