Viewing Linux partitions?

I have Linux and Windows installed on one machine. Windows is installed on
an NTFS partition, so I know there will be problems seeing the Windows
partition from Linux, but can you see the Linux partitions from Windows? If
so how do you set this up? I was working in a company recently where it was
possible to map Unix partitions to a Windows drive, but that system was
basically a Unix/Linux system and Windows was only accessible via Citrix
emulation, so I don't know if it is possible on a Windows system.

Grateful for advice.

No. You should make a partition formatted FAT32 if you want to share any
data between the two operating systems.

Google is your friend.

Paragon does a program called "Partition Explorer", which gives you access
to files on a linux partition.

Distros like Mandriva 2006 give you access to an NTFS formatted Windows
partition, from linux, with zero effort.

This has nothing to do with windows. Ask in a group devoted to the
toy OS.

You are probably viewing this group through a LINUX server. Take your
ill-found prejudices elsewhere.

I haven't tried that distro so I don't know if it supports writing or just
reading. Using any permission based OS to write to another permission based
OS's volumes/partitions is always a bad idea. It can cause ownership issues.
This means Linux writing to a NTFS drive or Windows writing to a Linux drive
may cause unforseen problems down the road. Reading files shouldn't be a
problem.
