In any web page, including ones that are local to my
machine, when I click View/Source, the task manager shows
activity for a few seconds and returns me to where I
started. I can't see any source code. I have Norton AV
and FW 2004 installed but the source does not show even
if they are disabled. I assume I have some basic setting
wtong but can't find what it is. Any ideas?

Just a guess. What is listed under Internet Options -> Programs as the HTML
editor? Notepad, or something else?
