Viewing graphics

Hi everyone. I'm not technically savvy so hope a lay man
description is ok. I can't seem to view some pictures
(e.g., smileys from a website) and can only see a box with
a red X. I can view other graphics on the same page but
some are unavailable.

Can anyone suggest what I need to install to view these?
