Viewing formats other than tif/jpg/psd as images in W. Explorer Th

I have old KB articles which tell you how to add ShellEx registry keys in
order to view thumbnails as images instead of as icons in Windows Explorer
for formats other than the ususal jpgs and tifs. It worked well on my old
Windows 2000, where I added thumbnail views for psd's and pdf's and etc. I
hesitate using this technique on my present system (XP Pro), because it DOES
show images for the formats mentioned above, but nevertheless does NOT have
the added ShellEX file in the registry entries for those formats, whereas
they DID appear in my old 2KPRO....The old articles are not meant for XP,
except for one which dealt with getting image thumbnails "after upgrade to
Office XP"(?).

I added the psd's now thru a link I received from a different forum, and
would like to add at least pdf's. I use PDF X-Change PDF Viewer.

Any help would be appreciated!
Janet
Thanks,

The title of this thread was:
Viewing formats other than tif/jpg/psd as images in W. Explorer Thumbnails.

Since most of it got cut off, a more appropriate, short title would be:

Viewing Thumbnails as Images

Sorry.

I'd love to learn about that too, but until someone spills the beans we can
use this:

ThumbView 1.0 500 KB (Freeware)
http://www.seriema.net/thumbview/

"ThumbView enables image thumbnails and tooltips in MS-Windows Explorer
for filetypes that are not natively supported. It started with PCX, TGA,
DDS and PNG images, but now ThumbView supports an amazing 19 image types
- directly inside any Explorer window! This image software is completely
free!"

Supported filetypes
cut dcx dds mdl mng pcd pcx pic pix png pnm pbm pgm ppm
psd pdd psp pxr sgi rgb tga vda icb vst tif tiff wal xpm

Thanks Ju.c! That's pretty cool--although I hate to install a whole program
just for tga's (which is the remaining format I would like image thumbnails
for)....A similar thread I had under the PHOTOS MS group had a link to get
psd thumbnails, which worked, and I found out my pfd reader is coming out
tomorrow with a shell ext for pdf image thumbnails.
