In Tools->Startup I have deselected the option to show the database window
(primarily because the database is complete).

Every now and then, somethings happens which means I need to inspect an
underlying table or query.

Is there a way of accessing the database window without going back to
Tools->Startup, selecting the option and restarting the database?

Hi.
Is there a way of accessing the database window without going back to
Tools->Startup, selecting the option and restarting the database?

Select the Window -> Unhide... menu and select <DatabaseName> : Database (Access
2000 file format) to open the Database Window.

Sure, hold down <Shift> and open your db.

Your post does not say, nor necessarily imply, that you only have the
production database, but could be so understood. I'd suggest that, even for
personal applications, it's a good idea to keep a "development" database for
the purposes you mention, and for maintenance and enhancement... the
development database would, of course, not block access to the database
window. (And, if you don't already have a systematic backup plan, the time
to plan and implement is now.)

Does pressing F11 do it for you? Unless you've also unchecked the "Use
Access Special Keys" option, it should.
