Viewer w/ hyperlinks to slides

I have created a slideshow that is a multiple choice test. Each mult choice
answer hyperlinks to a different slide in the slideshow. I used Package for
CD (ppt 2003), so people can use it if they don't have the PPT program - but
it doesn't transfer the hyperlinks. It just goes through the slideshow as if
there wasn't any hyperlinks (1, 2, 3, ...) rather than dependent on which
selection is made. Is there any function to Package to CD that I don't know
about to include the hyperlinks on each mult choice item?

That's odd. Package for CD should preserve the hyperlinks. If you open
the packaged show in the regular version of PowerPoint (not the Viewer),
do the hyperlinks work? Have you used any transparency on the shapes
that are the hyperlinks?

The links work in regular PPT but when I tried it on a computer that does not
have PPT the links do not work. When you hover the mouse over the
hyperlinks, there is supposed to be a little hand, but there are no hands and
it always proceeds to the next slide.

Yes, the hyperlinks are transparent. Does that make a difference? If I
change them to colors do you think that would work?

If I understand correctly, you used a rectangle or some transparent Drawing
Tool to create your hyperlinks. Instead of using a Drawing Tool, which for
some reason loses it's hyperlink in Package for CD, use a transparent Action
Button. This will keep the hyperlink.

I'll try that, thank you!

Sorry, I was away for a few days. Thanks to Sandy for picking up the
ball. I believe you want to use a 99% transparent shape for your
hyperlink, rather than a 100% transparent shape. I believe the Viewer
has trouble with 100% transparent shapes. You probably won't notice the
difference visually between 100% and 99% transparent, but the hyperlink
should be preserved.

OMG THAAAAAANXX :D
i was going crazy for days trying to find the reason why my hyperlinks wouldnt work..
And the most bizarre thing is, i created the presentation and created the links in PowerPoint2008, when I went to 'slide show' mode, they didnt work.. but if I tried to open it in PowerPoint 2004, or even 2001, they worked perfectly!!
that's why I was sure it was about some kind of 'bug'..
thanx for the 99% hint!!
