"Snatching that pebble..."??
I must have lost something there in the Canadian translation.
;-)

Is that the pebble that causes the whole avalanche to fall on me?
<vbg>

"When you can take the pebble from my hand, it will be time for you to
leave."

Dirk has it exactly right... of course! But, just in case it is still too
obscure, it refers to a famous line from the old "Kung Fu" television show
(which you were undoubtedly too young to watch!). The young student is told
by his blind master to try to take a pebble from the hand of the master. He
fails. He will know when he has finished his training when he can take the
stone, etc....

I mention it because someone recently said "Patience, Grasshopper" to you
(Lynn, I think...) That was a phrase often used by the master to his
impetuous student.

Nothing Canadian about it.. just too much time wasted watching television!

Happy Canada Day!

It was funny you should use that line, Fred, because just last night I
heard a fencing instructor, at the end of his student's lesson, say
"Well, Grasshopper, it's about time to get out the rice paper."

Hey, come on now! I'm a little slow, but I do remember that show and yes, we did watch it! My
brothers and I always had to try out the "moves", much to the dismay of our parents.

It has been quite a while obviously since I heard that reference, but now I remember. Thanks for the
explanation (and Yoda).

I won't be taking any pebble from any MVP right now, but at least I know WHICH hand it will be in!

That might have been Ken.

I never realized that show was shown in Canada.
Happy Canada Day!

And HBTM.

Yes, assuming you interpreted that correctly.

Always got the question right concerning the date for Canada Day in school.
(Easy to remember for me)

Hi Fred,
Jeff! HBTY! Hope it was a great one! What'dja get for a present?

Thanks, yes I had a good day, but still had to work.

Presents? Oh yeah, good ones!! Let's see--

1. Rita gave me a poster of all the Access MVPs with autographs. Sweet.

2. Five free Lightsaber lessons from Dirk.

3. A copy of John Viescas' new book:
"What I don't know about Access."

--I finished it last night; all it had was a Preface and Bibliography page.

4. A brand new shiny MDW from Lynn and Joan (with matching chrome PIDs).

and of course...

5. A new yearly calendar from Duane.

P.S. Now that you are old enough to drink,...

Hey now!
I could say something, but I was taught to respect my ELDERS.
...I'll send you a virtual beer! <g>

Doug's private stock?
