When I click view source on the main menu or the pop-up (right mouse) menu nothing happens
I think it started after I installed a few security updates (but not sure
Anyone knows what to do
I've tried reinstalling IE, this doesn't help...

This is usually fixed by emptying the Temporary Internet Files.

Also, if you have a shortcut to Notepad on your desktop rename it to Npad.

Some people have reported that Quick View Plus can cause this.
