Dear helpdesk
Why is in win xp sp2 ---Remember each folder view settings--- not
working, while it is set to do so?

Hi Dorothy,

WindowsXP will remember the settings of up to 400 folders, after that it
starts forgetting some. See this from MVP Kelly for a way to increase this
number:

Line 2, increase the folder view size limit to 8000

I also have that problem, tried the registry edit but it gives an error
"cannot write to registry". Both values
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell]
"BagMRU Size"=dword:00001f40

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam]
"BagMRU Size"=dword:00001f40

are there but I cannot write this one, even manyally:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoSaveSettings"=dword:00000000

Any idea?
