view in windows explorer

I have Windows XP Home.

When I open windows explorer some folders open in tile view. I prefer
the detail view.

Is there a simple fix so ALL my folder in explorer open in "detail"
view?

Open any Explorer folder and set your preferred view. Click Tools,
Folder Options, View (TAB) - click the button "Apply to All Folders".
Close explorer & apps and log off your account and back on.

From windows explorer, Tools>Folder Options>View click the Apply to all
folders button.
