Frankly, I thought I would easily find the answer to my question but
aparently not. I'm new to FrontPage but found it easy to edit my website.
I'm using system fonts (arial and verdana) so I thought all was okay. Each
page looks great on my computer and most computers I view from. Today, I
tried to show someone something I was working on and I could hardly read the
text. The text was blurry and my photos were not centered....I could go on
and on.

My question(s):
1. How can I adjust those photos that look centered on my computer, but not
on others?
2. How can I preview what my page will look like in other browsers?

Please help....the site looks awful!

It'd be easier to help if we could see it...what's the URL?

My website is:
www.destinationnashville.com

To view my problem....
http://www.destinationnashville.com/Inside_About_team.html

If you click on my page....you can hardly read it, but if you click on
Ansley's page, you can ready it well. On my computer, they both look the
same.

Also,
http://www.destinationnashville.com/Inside_About_vision.html

When you click on each of those pages (Mission / Philosophy / etc.) They
look fine on my computer, but on my friend's computer, all the text is
different sizes.

thanks for your help.

With most of what I see the text is too small and I cannot adjust it. You
are being very unfair to potential viewers..... little accessibility here!

I didn't see anything. Your use of Flash prevents me from using your site.

Flash sux if you're gonna use it for the entire site..you'll have
accessiblity problems, viewers with Flash turned off won't be able to view
the site at all...AND as you will discover it's a pain to edit.

In Linsay and Ainsley pages try setting the font size the same as the other
pages instead of being specified as 8.0pt.

The other pages you mentioned all act normally here...they're adjustable by
the viewer so maybe that's what you're seeing?

I appreciate your response. I figured out what was causing the problem.
Whenever I chose "Verdana" "1 8pt" from the Front Page menu, it would appear
blurry. Whenever I cut the text from a Word document and pasted it into
FrontPage, it was fine.

When I copies the text from FrontPage and pasted it into a Word Document,
the text pasted as "Verdana 7.5"

I went back into each document...copied the text....pasted it into a word
document...changed the size and replaced the text in FrontPage. I wish there
was an easier way. Any thoughts?

When you copy/paste from Word to FP you always want to strip out Word's
formatting.

Two ways:
1- Copy from Word, paste into Notepad, copy from Notepad paste into FP.
2- Copy from Word, then use Paste Special from the top toolbar in FP to
paste without Word's formatting.

Does anyone have an answer for my initial question. When designing the page,
is there a way I can view it the way people with other browsers will view it.
It all looks good to me, but when I look at the page from a friend's
computer, it is distorted. Is there a setting on my computer which will let
me see how others see it?

Install different browsers and use preview in browser, using different
window sizes. There is no magic button.

Buy yourself a Mac, several PCs, and a few mobile devices. On the PCs,
install Windows on one, an IBM OS on another, a Unix OS on another, a Linux
OS on another. Install all of the popular browsers on each one. Then view
your pages on each computer using each browser at all screen resolutions
available, and with varying color resolutions (anything between 256 and True
Color is probably enough). Be sure to resize the windows with each viewing.

That should cover most of the available configurations.

I remember seeing a piece of software that offered users to see how the page
would be viewed in different browsers. I guess it was not FrontPage.

After you install different browsers on your machine, you can add them to:
File | Preview In Browser, that way you can get to them easily.

Rob,
Thank you for your helpful, non-sarcastic responses to my questions. I am a
self-taught Access programmer and for the past 9 years, I have been working
on a database for my business that is now considered one of the best pieces
of software, specific to our industry. On occasion, I have needed to post a
question to get help with something I was working on.

My questions, sometimes perhaps not sophisticated, have always been
seriously addressed and left me feeling empowered. Apparently, that is not
the protocol in this discussion group.

If the goal of some of your programmers is to make the occasional user feel
stupid, unconfident and embarrassed, they have succeeded. Thank you for your
help.
