I have a canon digital video camcorder, zr60.
During the review of my tapes which was roughly 5 min.
the screen went blank, and a icon (media) appeared on my
desktop. I believe that the media icon came from my
camcorder. How do I return this from the desktop and back
to my camera?

Right click on the icon and post it's properties, if you don't want to open
it to see what it is. How did you have the cam connected? Can you remeber
what you were doing when it happened?
