Video Resolution problem

The Screen resolution won't let me go above 800X600. And
colour quality is lowest 4 bit with no other choices. I
have an NVidia video card and it worked well for several
months now. What is wrong? I do get a prompt from XP
when I log on saying my settings are to low but when I
try to automatically set them I get A DLL initialization
failed. NuCpl.dll

I also had to reload Windows Media 9 because the DLL was
not there.

Help???
