video plays with no sound in PowerPoint

I insert a video to PowerPoint which plays well in Window Media Player, but
in PowerPoint slide show the video plays with no sound. Why and how to solve
it?

Hi,
First, make sure the videos play well in Windows Media Player and the
volume is not setted to mute.
If these work ok, try the following methods:
Method 1. Try to download and install some new codec from official:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/format/codecdownload.aspx.
Go for codec references at: http://www.codecguide.com/
Method 2.
1. Put video files and the PowerPoint presentation in a same folder.
2. Re-insert these files to PowerPoint presentation.
3. Preview it.
