video only showing in black and white

more and more frequently I have the problem of video only
showing in black and white. At first it seemed that this
would only be a problem if I was already running video in
two applications at once (the 2nd opened program would
show video in black and white only), but now I have
trouble getting any program to show video in color on a
regular or predictable basis.

this problem occurs both with video files on my hard
drive and DVD ROM play.

I suspect this is a driver problem, but i need to know
where to start looking and how to find updated drivers. I
just reformatted my hard drive and installed xp a couple
of days ago. I obviously have been reinstalling a lot of
drivers in the past few days.

It's usually a case of NTSC vs PAL, but I presume since you have a juno.com
email address that you're in the US.

Try updating the graphics card drivers first if you haven't already done so.
