Video on external monitor

Hello,

I have a Toshiba Tecra M2 & am unable to play video on an external monitor.
Playing a video displays on the laptop screen, but I just get a black box in
Media Player. All other graphics work fine, ie. Windows desktop, excel etc.
on both the laptop & external monitor. I have the latest driver from the MS
site (we only allow WHQL signed drivers on our domain)
It has happened 3 times on this same laptop & have to re-build each time.
Anybody else had similar problems?

Unless you have a really high end machine you cannot have overlay on two
monitors at the same time.
To get around this either.
Turn off hardware acceleration.

Or
Make the second monitor the primary one.
This will result in the laptop screen not displaying it.
