video import problems with "sony" saved video file

Haved saved files from my new SonyHDD Handycam. THey play in Windows Movie
Player but when imported into MM I get the error message: .mpg could not be
imported. An interface has too many methods to fire events from

Can anyone help?

i had exactly the same problem and www.flaskmpeg.net was the answer!! to
convert your mpeg2 to avi for free.
