Our agency is researching video software to use in converting and editing
video clips for use in PowerPoint shows for our execs. Typically, these are
ready-made videos we get from elsewhere (not in-house creations or camera
work) and occasionally we need to repurpose them so they'll play correctly in
PPT or shorten their length. We use PPT2003.

Our needs are basic but may grow as we get more comfortable using video
clips in our presentations.

Any recommendations?

Thank you!

You may want to try the dree trail of PFCPro. It allows you to do all the
basic editing functions for video directly in PowerPoint and creates a
PowerPoint friendly video format.

When inserting the Webcam option from PFCPro in a given slide, can the webcam
be made to start without pushing the start button? In other words, I would
like the webcam to simply come on when I advance to that slide, and off when
I move on to the next slide.

I do not believe this is possible. PFCPro does a great job of inserting a
multimedia object and doing a lot of the needed coding behind the scenes,
but it is just opening a object to view the media (in this case a webcam)
and does not have any way to interact with the external device. Now if the
webcam was already turned on (and pointed the right direction), it should be
able to display the already active video feedback when the slide is advanced
to.
