Video Clips Sputter and Stall

B

Buzz

At first I thought it was just my laptop or because I use
Presenter View and cloned monitor for the projector, but
a co-worker has the same problem and doesn't use either.
Video clips in PowerPoint stall, sputter or stagger. Not
all the time and not every clip, nor in the same place.
The video clips when run outside of PowerPoint (Windows
Media Player or others) play normally with no hesitation.

I am running Windows XP home on a Toshiba Satellite,
Pentium 4, 2.0 chip, 528 RAM, 64 MEG on a G-force video
card. The PowerPoint file is in the same folder as the
video clips (which run 55 MG and 23 MG each in WVM
format).

I was told to run disk clean-up and defrag the night
before each presentation but that has not helped. I
would really like to fix this as my co-worker refuses to
run the video clips because the staling is so annoying.

Thanks
