Video clips not loading into program

Dear Sir/Madam,

I'm 13 and I've started making music videos on Windows Movie Maker recently
- using clips from a tv show that i watch. I have not had any problems with
the software until now - I have dowloaded an episode of my tv show from the
internet (limewire) but It will not load into the Movie Maker program. When i
try to import the episode, a warning box appears saying :

The file C:\Documents and Settings\david\My Documents\My Videos\Naruto
Episode 85 - Foolish Little Brother (Sasuke Vs Itachi).avi cannot be imported
because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your
computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close
and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.

I really need this episode to pick out certain clips from : Why won't it
import into the program?? Any help will be greatfully appreciated.

Is there a way for anyone who is really savvy for Moviemaker, like you, to
STEP BY STEP tell us how to edit and use this program? I'm 51 and don't
understand one word of the directions. "Drag and clip" part of the video you
want to edit. Huh? I grabbed an edge of a sample clip and dragged it, didn't
know how much to drag, but THEN what do you do? Horrible directions, and I
need to edit/insert racing videos. Help??

How far can you get? Were you able to
import your video clips into Movie Maker?

Ok...left click / drag...the clips to the Timeline
or the Story Board and drop them.

If you explain exactly what you wish to
accomplish we may be able to offer some
ideas.
