Microsoft Windows Media metafiles(.asx extension) are text files that
provide information about a file stream and its presentation.
Open the .asx file with notepad,you can see like this:
<ASX Version="3.0">
<TITLE>Title</TITLE>
<ENTRY>
<Ref href = "myvideo.wmv" />
</ENTRY>
</ASX>

so myvideo.wmv is the actual video file you want to insert.

Karl

Hello Bob,

An *.ASX file is not a media clip and, instead, is a script which
references a video file, live video stream, etc.

Having said that, you simply insert it the way you would an actual movie:

1) Insert -> Movies and Sounds -> Movie from File
2) In the resulting dialog select the *.asx
3) Click "OK"
