Video causes reboot on startup

Installng WIndows 2000 on new system, first boot after
new install shuts down computer when first splash screen
is dislpayed and video is switching to advanced mode

Unable to boot to safe mode as well
Windows Install causes same problem. System shuts down
when detecting new monitor.
