How many bloody video cards are out on the market... I am trying to choose between a few so I will list them here:

Hercules Prophet 8500 LE 64MB - $203
Radeon 9000 64MB - $138
Radeon 9000 Pro 64MB - $218
Hercules Prophet 9000 128MB - $272
GeForce 4 MX460 128MB - $196

All prices are in Australian prices... it is really hard to determine if one card is worth the extra ???

Any thoughts?

Welcome to PCR Andrew

Hercules has to be the highest profile video card manufacturers to incorporate a Radeon family GPU into its own line. This time around it's the Radeon 8500LE, identical to the Radeon 8500 in every aspect except a slightly slower core and memory clock. To be exact, the Radeon 8500 runs a core and memory clock of 275/275MHz, while the LE version ships at 250/240MHz - or at least in the case of the 3D Prophet FDX 8500 LE. Although Hercules may not offer a full-blown 8500, the 8500LE is definitely the next best thing.

What you Get

I see your dilemma ... To me the ATI are "trying" to compete with the MX from nVidia. Well I would choose the MX because it has a proven track record now. ATI are still trying to get the drivers right.

Hercules makes the best graphics cards in my opinion. :D

I would say go for the 9000 pro, fast card, not to expensive and supports DX9 i think?
