Video Capture

I like to capture a still shot of video.
That is, if I'm watching a DVD on my computer I'd like to be able to do a
screen capture.

For some reason if I use a screen capture program I get black.

Is there any info/sample of how to capture video on the screen?

Why is it different than regular screen capture?

To do screen capture you need to use the appropriate video codec.
