Video Camera = Web Cam??

Hey, just wondering if there is anyway that I can use my Digital Video
Camera as a webcam??

Or what about my Digital Camera that takes video??

Any software out there that can do this??

Don't want to spend the money on a web cam if I don't have to.

I know I can hook it up to my Video Input on my Video Card and can record
directly to my hard drive. I'm just wondering if I can use it with like MSN
Messenger or Netmeeting.

??? why would you do that unless the video card has a firewire port.

There were actually cameras too that did this but I would ask why in
the heck bother if you live in the US. YOu can get cheap webcams.
Its a hassle setting it up and putting it away and you can knock your
expensive relatively speaking over and scratch or damage it.

I got a bunch of rebate stuff a few weeks ago - free and one item was
a webcam at OMax - free after rebate. They went quick though.
Compusa used to have webcam deals too but none lately.
