Video Browser

is there a program, a la ACDSEE, which will allow me to browse through
numerous
video files. I know that plugins in ACDSEE allow some of that functionality
already
but i don't like it. Remember seeing such software a while ago but now can't
find it.
Preferebly freeware but if it's a good shareware that will do as well.

thank you very much.

I believe Irfanview will do what you want.

I've been pursuing this for some months now, checking out dozens of
freeware and $ware. The best I've found is freeware Xnview (no install,
and registry probably untouched), which the more I use the more I like.
Very configurable. I have it set to show thumbnails and a video preview
window pane. I've set double-clicking, or hitting Enter on, a thumbnail to
launch Media Player Classic (which does understand the 16:9 ratio,
sometimes!). It's a perfect combination.

If it could play my 16:9 camcorder movies at the correct ratio it would be
perfect, but it uses the MS Media Player engine that doesn't understand
whatever ratio info is buried in my files.
