VERY Strange behaviour in source (2nd request)

This is a weird one!
Normally when I look at source files of a web page on IE on my harddrive I
see a clean notepad text, where it will says in the title bar, something like
member.html or myfile.htm

Now this is the doozy, and I have NO clue how to fix it. When I open that
same file on my (local) machine, THIS is what it says in the title bar:
C_CuteFTP_Working_enter[1] - Notepad

that is the location of where the file is.... AND
on top of that, when I try to save the file, instead of giving the file name
- save, it tries to save the file as a text file, with no option to save it
as the file.htm.

I was told to post this here by the IE newgroup as they said it was an OS
issue.

thanks!

View it with FRONT PAGE or any other WEB Publisher and then save it. It will
be saved as a HTM or HTML file. Most Word Processors will save in either Doc,
Txt, etc and few read HTM.
I beleive that the NEWER version of Office Pro has Office Word that will
read and save HTM.

The problem is that this behaviour JUST started. I have all the other
viewers, but I still use my notepad for quick edits. and this new behavior is
NOT typical of notepad, and its makeing me nutty.

Did you just install CuteFTP? Did you choose to use its text editor for
html editing, replacing Notepad? That sure is what is sounds like. Go
into CuteFTP's options and change your preferences.

Let me explain this a bit differently.
Lets say I am working on an html.. I have the OPENED web page sitting in
front of me NOT the html in front of me, I right click on the web page and
view source. THAT is when I get this weird text in the title bar, where
normally it would read myfile.htm, it reads C_CuteFTP_Working_myfile[1] -
Notepad
