Very slow webpage loading

About 2 days ago a web page that I access on a daily basis started loading
impossibly slow. Every other website is fine - this is a site that I pay a
subscription to access and until I changed it in an effort to try to resolve
this problem was my home page. I have contacted the subscription provider and
it is not them. I can access from another computer at this location and it
loads fine. The system I can access fine from is also xp home but doesn't
appear to have SP 2, is a slightly different version of IE, 6.0.2600.0000.xp
client 010817.1148, where mine is v. 6.0.2900.2180.spsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519.
Both are xp home 2002 versons windows, (except, as I say, mine is sp2.)

Also interesting is that trying to access this website from two different
computers at work seems to have the same issue. However, at the moment I
don't have versions etc. But, my machine, like the two at work, are all xp
home, new, and all have automatic updating enabled - someting I'm wondering
about being a very good idea.

Also - downloaded a firefox to try that - no help. Something else that is
odd - the website that I'm having trouble accessing (downloading) (wall
street journal) has a sister publication (barron's) and it loads fine -
though not sure what that tells us. The people at the publication tell me the
problem is not on their end.

Have been to all of the advanced settings and played with everything can get
no change, have run scans for spyware using a couple of different programs,
have deleted all temporary internet files, have deleted all cookies, turned
off virus software and firewalls, remonved all of the security and privacy
settings then changed back to default, am allowing pop-ups, I can't imagine
what is going on here but it's really hard to find the time to monkey with
this kind of nonsense - who want's to be a hero and help me with this
thing?!!!!!!

My guess would be that you have an MTU issue.

<title>KB314825 - How to Troubleshoot Black Hole Router Issues</title>

However, this isn't really the best newsgroup for diagnosing such things.

Here is a troubleshooter which can lead you to the XP networking newsgroup
if you need more help

Good luck
