XP Pro starts up quickly with no problem. However, lately it takes a very long time to shut down. What can be causing this and how can I correct it?

Thanks!

Have you installed any new products that have constantly running
services? For example, Apple's itunes causes a delay on some PC's,
something to do with their Gearsec CD recording service.

Thanks, Chris. One of your links solved the problem. For some reason my Group Policy Editor had a security option to clear the pagefile at system shutdown. The same setting also forces the hibernation file to be wiped at shutdown. I disabled this setting and the shutdown is now at normal speed!!!

THANKS!!
