Very Slow Object Manipulation

When I am in PowerPoint (2007), each time I try to resize or move an lines,
objects, text boxes, etc. it takes forever. It is so bad, I cannot even
create simple things like organization charts. Can someone provide me with
some insight on what might be going on?
