I have XP Pro PC (P4 3GHz)in a small Win2K Domain. All my
Win2K Pro PCs are quick to the network and the web. The
XP Pro PC (by far the fastest hardware) runs incredibly
slow when accessing the network (files on the server) via
My Network Places, File Save or Open Dialog boxes, but
mapped drives are typically fast. During the delay the
computer is extremely unresponsive (can't open a new
window or menu or right click on anything). Also
accessing web sites from within Outlook contact or e-mail
links are extremely slow. Where do I look to troubleshoot
this problem? I'm almost ready to scrap this PC's Setup
and totally reinstall Windows XP althought I am concerned
about reactivation.
