My Network Place - Slow Response

Hi,

I have a problem with certain XP machines on our network that are very slow
to open 'my network places'.

If I disable Netbios over IP, the response speeds up dramatically and will
list all the shared folders from the network. However, I am then unable to
access any of these shared resouces or mapped drives, returing the error 'you
may not have permissions .......

If I then reinstated the default setting for Netbios the 'my network places'
slows right down but I can atleast access the shared folders again.

Any one have any ideas?

Thanks..

Chris

Do you have a lot shortcut in My Network Places? This link may help,
Slow to browse My Network Places Issue

1.. Use fewer protocols or NICs on a computer. More protocols and NICs, it takes longer time to browse....
