Running Vista Ultimate 64-bit. How can I ensure that the
Internet Explorer window opens in the size and location I
want?

I know how to drag the boundaries, and when I place the
window where I want it, and the size I want it, it remains
there for 5-10 cycles of opening and closing Internet
Explorer; then without warning/explanation it opens in what
appears to be a default size and location.

Any enlightenment appreciated.

My window opens in the location of the last remaining open window I closed
earlier. If I open a second window and have not moved the first window, it
opens in a different location, presumably to better let the user know that a
new window has opened.
The best way to keep your setting is to close the last window in the
location that you want your next new window to appear at.
