Hello,
I have a very specific problem. After some time when running my xp system,
too many
handles are generated (over 100 000) - visible in Task manager. This is
significantly slowing down the system.
In other systems I saw around 10 000 or less.
I installed Extended task manager and found out that that for example
explorer (not IE but the one
used when browsing directory structures) uses like 20 000 handles and this
number is growing.
As a result "save as" option in any application takes over 3 minutes.
Any idea what might be the reason and what to do with that apart form
re-installing the system?
Thank you very much
